POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

We were given a script to follow, our group focused on using creativity to show humor and drama. we used problem solving as we faced absences in our group through our filming days and final days.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

We worked to communicate throughout our production cycle, from out stand up meetings, to timeline check ins, and our burn down chart. We used problem solving together when problems came up. We had a short timeline so we planned and organized as a group to achieve our personal goals and in the end, our final team goal.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

We used Google drive on Tori’s computer to organize the uploaded audio clips and film files. We used a paper drawing layout to draw out our timeline. Throughout the production, we used Trello to organize what we needed to do and keep us in line for our goals.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

The film and its production prepared me for a support role and helping out throughout the group. It also challenged me to work through a new type of timeline/planning style. I got better at learning how to work with that schedule. It helped me to learn how to present myself with my organization skills.

Reactions to the Final Version

A response from Oscar of our film was that we could’ve lowered the audio levels to match throughout the film. He pointed out that the last part of our film where PJ opened the KitKat bar and during the black screen. He mainly wanted to see a more even level throughout the film so that it matches up better.

Mr. Leduc added that in order to even the audio , we could’ve filmed a section of audio for just the blank library and the background noise.

Coletrane added that the camera could’ve been aimed higher at Nathan during his walkout clips. He added that if we were to cut part of his face off on purpose, then we should get a closeup shot of his first, then aim down/zoom in onto the objects he was carrying.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

Our film concept and story telling was simple so that the points we needed to show through our film were clear and straightforward.

I learned that in order to have a successful film, it takes the whole team to work together and do their own part to come together and work together. I have learned that planning each stage in the production cycle is key. I have also built my basic knowledge and advanced my skills in the roles of the film.
